Welcome to the new version of MP3 clips And Tab. As most of you know, I had shut the site down some time ago. In retrospect, I've come to the conclusion that, for all the work already done on it, it should remain open for players to use and enjoy. Ricky and Jeffs' names will remain on the masthead due in a large part to my respect for them as players but more specifically, for all the great tab they have provided. I will NO longer accept requests for songs to be tabbed out, rather, if YOU have a request, post it on the Steel Forum (Tab section) and perhaps Ricky or Jeff or some of the other players who also do a great job on tab will respond and do it for you. If that happens, I would like them to send me a Notepad text version of it so it can be posted on the site. I will continue to update the site with steel clips as there is still so much great stuff yet undone, but only as my time allows. I will also accept clips/tab from other players for posting and credit will be given to them on the page. This site is and was designed as strictly a learning tool and it is hoped that all pedal steel players, both new and old will find something here that they can use to further their playing ability on our instrument of choice.
The
files can be downloaded to your hard drive by right clicking on the title (Netscape) or
listened to by left clicking on the title (Internet Explorer), the tab can be copied and pasted to a word processing program and printed out.
Click Here to see a Log file of Tab Updates from 10/20/03.
Click Here to see an alphabetical listing of all clips on the site. It lists the name, whether it is an intro, break or turn-around and the year page it is found on. Those with Tab are also marked as such. You can view it on-screen or highlight it and copy and paste it into a Word Processing program or Notepad and save it to your hard-drive. I will keep it up-dated as I add new material.
So much has been written concerning the demise of Jimmy Day and now Jeff Newman. Words can't possibly say anything more about these two legends of the steel guitar so I have chosen this way to make my feelings known. May they Rest In Peace - Rebel™
I would like to thank Walter Stetner from Vienna, Austria for his kind permission to use the picture and sound clip of Jeff Newman. Walter invites all his friends in the steel guitar community to visit his web site Click Here
Click on the links below to download "Unchained Melody" (E9th), courtesy of Don Sulesky. Don had a lot of requests on the Forum for this and this might make it easier for fellas to get. Done in Word.doc format.

Non-Pedal (Lap Steel ) Tab/MP3's New page started today of non-pedal (Hawaiian) tab that Ricky has started working on due to an interest expressed to him thru emails. There are not the number of sound clips for these as on the other pages, as the only ones I have are ones submitted by other people. I will post any I receive and I hope you enjoy them.
