Independent Order of Odd Fellows: Decoration Day
Beginning in 1877, the local branch of the International Order of Odd Fellows (also know as the Three Link Fraternity), a benevolent society, began to annually decorate the graves of their departed brethren. This practice is still carried on on the second weekend of August, although now a general practice, rather than an Odd Fellows event.
